The Project:

Brand development for Retail Energy Code Company (RECCo), a not-for-profit organisation who manage the key rules that energy suppliers must follow when selling to UK consumers.

The Brief - To create a flexible, yet recognisable brand that reflects the company’s key values of integrity and innovation. This to then be rolled out across all digital touchpoints and collateral.

The Concept - Leaning on the digital-first brief with the use of a carefully designed ‘toggle’ switch, with a few hidden meanings in the icon. The first of which is the ‘CO’ in the negative space, differentiating RECCo from the Retail Energy Code (REC) itself, bolstering the fact that this is the company that manages the code. Secondly is the visual representation of a pipe, tunnel, or cable, the delivery systems of power. Finally is the ‘CO’ as a depiction of the moon and sun, with the code being managed around the clock.

We worked with Emil on a full overhaul of our branding and website. The team at Shoreditch (and it was genuinely a team of specialists) that we interacted with were attentive to our needs and provided many options to consider. We are delighted with the outcome.
